Welcome to Zoids Arena

We're an online Zoids role-playing and battle simulation community that's just setting off. We're here to continually grow and change, and we plan on being around for many years.

First Things First

The first things you need to do be a part of Zoids Arena is to create yourself a signature. It doesn't have to have much in it at first, just your character name and your AIM screenname.

AIM screenname, you ask?

Yes. Every pilot on ZA is required to have an AIM screenname. If you don't already have one, just go visit AIM.com and sign up for one. Download the basic client, if you don't already have it.

AIM is used for battling, site events, and chatting. Every staff member has an AIM screenname and is open for your questions. Just tell us who you are and that you're new to ZA, and any one of the staff will be glad to help you get started.

Next, tell us who you are. Post a topic in the Introductions forum.

Introduce yourself, and trust me - lots of folk will be by to say hello and get acquainted with you. We're always glad to have new people around.

How Things Work

How things work here at ZA is always one of the first questions new members ask. There's a bit of reading to be done, but it's all quick, and once you're through it, you'll know what's what.

Check out our Info Section and read through the topics there. Surf our forums, and read through the pinned topics you find. Most of them are informative and explain rules and guidelines you'll need.

If you still have questions, then you can ask them in the Citizen's Area or ask a staffer.

How do I become a Pilot?

Now that you know how things work, it's time for you to become a pilot!

First, write yourself up a character biography. This is harder than it sounds, but ZA has plenty of resources to help you. There is the Character Creation Guide in the Info Section of the site.

And there are two other good character creation guides in the Bio Critique section of the Citizen's Area. One of them is by Phelan, one of our Super Moderators, and one is by Yurei Avalon, a long time member of the MMM.

Once you have bio written, post it in the Bio Critique Forum and let some of our pilots look over your bio. Remember, anyone who is already a Registered Pilot has been through this process and has written a character bio that's already been accepted, so listen to what they have to say. They're posting in that forum because they want to help you become a Registered Pilot, not because they want to pick on you.

Once you've revised your character bio, you're ready to submit. Check the top of the Main page of the site to make sure Character Applications are open, and then Private Message (PM) your application to Character Applications using your User Control Panel.
